Guest guest
Respected Ramanuja Bhaktas, Vedic followers throughout the world celebrated Deepavali, India's famed Festival of Lights, on Monday, November 4. For many, the holday was marked with oil lamps lit throughout the home, clothes, delicious Indian sweets, festive family gatherings, and for those in India, fireworks. To followers of Ramanuja Darshanam, however, the celebration was all the more festive, because it also marked the thirunakshatram (holy appearance day) of our most revered Acharya, Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Sriman Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy. In this era where the lofty Vedic ideals have fallen prey to ignorance, superstitionalism, and the skepticism of so- called " rationalism " , Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy has come to us as a Beacon Light of hope, compassion, and wisdom. He has brought back the glory of the Vedas to a needy world, and is sharing their profound messages in the way that Bhagavad Sri Ramanuja had intended them to be shared, with all people, irrespective of race, caste, creed or gender. The following two links were created on the ocassion of Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy's appearance day. The first describes the events that took place at his ashramam at Sithanagaram, the second pays homage to his remarkable life and contributions to Ramanuja Darshanam. http://www.chinnajeeyar.org/diwali2k2.htm http://www.bhakthinivedana.org/OurAcharya.htm adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan Mohan
