Guest guest
Respected Ramanuja Bhaktas, In our busy and hurried lives, as we rush from home to work to social obligations to home again, there are very few of us who can have time or patience to pay homage to the great souls of history who selflessly committed themselves to live for the benefit of the world. But, the month of November is filled with the appearance days of such great souls, who throughout history have dedicated themselves to the service of the Lord and His creation. It would only be fitting for us to at least spend a few minutes thinking about them, reflecting on their lives, such that we can be inspired to awaken this Selfless Love in our own hearts. One such opportunity is marked today, Aipassi thirumUlam, the thirunakshatram of a great scholar and sincere devotee, who was so compassionate, so magnanimous, and yet so humble, that he is regarded by followers of Ramanuja Darshanam to be another Avatara of Ramanuja Himself. His name is Sri Manavalamamunigal, and his exemplary life and teachings are being honored through magnificent ceremonies and rituals that are taking place in temples throughout South India today. Interestingly, one of these rituals involves the Lord's recognition of Sri Manavalamamunigal as His Own Teacher, His Own Acharya.
