Respected Ramanuja Bhaktas,

As many of you know, the followers of Ramanuja Darshanam (Ramanuja's Vision)

recognize 108 Vishnu temples to more sacred than all other temples, since

these were the places that the AzhwArs have sung about in their Collection of

4000 Tamil Hymns. Among these " Divya dEshams " , two are in the Highest Abode,

while the remaining 106 are here on earth in India and Nepal.

The Hindu, one of India's most respected newspapers, has just completed a

series of articles on nine of these sacred temples, known as Nava (Nine)

Thirupatis, which are located in the southern part of the state of Tamil Nadu

in India. This lucid set of articles may be particularly helpful to those

members who are of Western origin, as it provides a glimpse into the deities,

temple architecture, stories and beliefs that form the religion of

SriVaishnavam.
