Srimathe Ramanujayanamaha!!

Sri Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam!!

We have finished the 1st sarga of Balakanda Tathvadeepika. Now we are

entering the second sarga.

Sri Ramayana AvatharaNam:

In Sri Ramayana there are three greatnesses. It was said by Maharshi

Valmiki. The way it emerged was wonderful. The story delineated in it is

the story of Sri Rama. We should first know the significance of these

three. Valmiki has transformed into a maharshi because of the effect of

the Ramanama he received from the rishis. While he was leading his life

in a normal fashion, earning his daily bread and feeding his family, it

was the rishis who changed his violent nature of hunting and hurting and

turned him towards the Parama Purusha. After he became a rishi, when he

was in his hermitage, ‘trilo:kajna, Nara:yana Para:yana and Brahma’s son

came to him and narrated the story of Rama expounding the parathathva.

Valmiki ardently heard him and grasped the secret. He worshipped Narada

along with his disciples. Narada received his hospitality and left for

Brahmalo:ka.

Later Valmiki went to the near by Thamasa nadi in the afternoon along

with his disciple Bharadwa:ja to take his afternoon bath. There seeing

the clear waters of that Thamasa river he said to Bharadwa:ja –

“akardama midam thi:rtham, bharadwa:ja niSa:maya

ramaNiyam prasannambu, sanmanushya mano:yadha:”

“Bharadwa:ja, Have you seen this water? They are not muddy. It is

pleasant to see them. The waters are crystal clear and transparent. This

is like the mind of a good person.” This is denoting Valmiki’s state of

mind. Bhagavan is all pervading. There is nothing where there is no

brahmam. So everything is ‘brahma:thmakam’. One who visualizes this is a

sath + purusha = sathpurusha.

To be continued…….
