Guest guest
Srimathe Ramanujayanamaha! Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam!! 6th sarga In Ayodhya king Dasaratha was the ruler. He was well versed in Vedas. He used to keep the company of erudite scholars and the valiant. He was a foreseer and the most courageous; had great love for his citizens; was an ‘athiratha’ among the Ikshwa:kus. He was performing yajnas as told in the Sasthras. He was interested in generous works like getting the ponds dug, providing rest houses and gardens. All his subjects were compliant to him. He was equal to maharshies in his conduct. He was a ra:jarshi. He was famous in all the three worlds. He was a mighty king maintaining the four branches of army. He defeated his enemies and used to be with his noble friends. He conquered his indriya:s. He had all the necessary wealths. He secured every thing essential for his kingdom and was equal to Indra and Kube:ra. The way the first king Manu ruled this world; thus Dasarathahe was administering his kingdom. He was bound by truth and always adhered to dharma, artha and ka:ma. Since he ruled his kingdom as per the dictates of dharma; his subjects were always happy. They were interested in practicing dharma and learned in Vedas and Sastras. They were satisfied with what they had and were never greedy for others’ wealth. Speaking truth was natural to him. There were none with meager income. There was not a single family complaining of any scarcity. To be continued... Jai Srimannarayana!
