Through the kindness of the AchAryas, and on this auspicious ocassion of thiruvAdipooram (AndAl's Holy Appearance Day), I am blessed to announce the release of Volume I, Issue III of Ramanuja Darshanam, the official magazine of Vedics, Inc. This special issue focuses on AndAl, the only woman among the "10 + 2" AzhvArs, who is recognized to be an incarnation of Bhu dEvi, the Goddess of the Earth.

AndAl's unique mystical experience as the bride of the Lord is discussed in great detail in this issue, through a study of the inner meaning of her famous thiru-p-pAvai (sacred vow), as well as in the lesser known but all the more mystical nAcciyAr thirumOzhi (the sacred works of the Lady). The magazine also looks at Sri Ramanuja's experience of AndAl as his own younger sister (although she lived many centuries before him), and how through this mystical connection he came to be known as Thiru-p-pAvai Jeeyar. In addition, the magazine looks at the life of the renowned foster father of AndAl, who is regarded to be an AzhvAr in his own right, PeriyAzhvAr, and his own mystical love for the Lord in which he saw himself as His Mother and Father.

Ramanuja Darshanam is available online now at www.vedics.net, and will soon be made available in paper form at temples and religious gatherings throughout India and the USA.

On behalf of the volunteers of Ramanuja Darshanam magazine,
