Guest guest
Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha Asmath Gurubyo Namaha A GREAT ACHARYA At ripe old age Swami with quite a few illnesses, (age related) and weak, He was very dedicated and enthusiastic to write vyakyanams for our Purvacharyar’s works. If there is no Mamunikals’ explanation on Acharya Hrudayam, we won’t know the meaning of that great work. So one day while Mamunikal, with the palm leaf and nail was stuggling to write, His foremost sishya Kandadaiannan was very much pained to see his Acharya like that. So he asked His Acharya “ why Devareer is daily struggling with neck pain and back pain and even without considering your discomfort You write leaning on this wooden step?” Jeeyar with great kindness turned to His sishya answered “ We are doing for your sons and their descendents,” so saying Jeeyar continued to write and finish up the vyakyanam of Acharya Hrudayam. For future generations to learn these unique works, which they won’t be able to do without the meanings He wrote the explanations, not minding the great discomforts to His Thirumeni (body). These kind of generosity is seen only rare Jagadacharyans like Swami Manavalamamunikal. Source: This is from Yatheendrapravanaprabhavam. Let us spend sometime learning our Purvacharyas’ works so that what they had sacrificed for us don’t go to waste. Azhvar Emperumanar Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam. Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Saranam.
