Guest guest
From the Bhakthi Nivedana Web Page: o:ngi ulagalanda uththaman pe:rpa:di na:ngal nampa:vaikku seyyum kirisaigal ke:li:ro:thi:nginri na:della:m thingal mumma:rip peydu o:nguperum sennelu:du kayalugalapu:nguvalaip po:dil porivandu kanpaduppathe:nga:de: pukkirundu si:rthamulai paththi va:ngakudam niraikkum vallal perum pasukkalni:nga:da selvam niraindu e:lo:remba:va:i || In this pasuram, Anda:l is showing the worldly material results to those who allow them to do the Vratham, though, the main result of this Vratham is to enjoin Lord Krishna only. Let us sing the glorious name of the one who measured this whole universe with His feet in Thrivikrama incarnation. We shall call it vratham and if we follow it taking the Divine shower in the early hours then, there won't be any calamities to anybody, anywhere in the whole world. There will be rains once every 10 days thus, thrice every month. Paddy grows extremely well. As there is no scarcity of water and the fields are full of waters, fishes in the water jump across the paddy branches. In those water sheds, the lotus like kaluva flowers blossom and in them the big bees rest, with their stomachs filled with the plenty of honey. If Courageous, strong and persevering persons hold the milching sacs of the cow and once start to sqeeze milk then, at once, all the pots that were brought will get filled with the milk given by those extremely generous great cows. Everyone will be blessed with such plenty of wealths, come on ! This is our Vratham let us follow. a:zhi malai kanna: onru ni: kaikarave:l a:zhiyul pukku mugundu kodu a:rthe:riu:zhi mudalvan uruvambo:l mey karuththu pa:zhi amtho:ludai parbana:ban kayyil a:zhipo:l minni valamburipo:l ninradirindutha:zha:de: sa:rngamudaiththach saramalai po:lva:zha ulaginil peydida:y - na:ngalumma:rgazhi ni:ra:da magizhindu e:lo:remba:va:i || Mother A:nda:l is instructing the the demi god, Varuna who is the god of rains, teaching him how to rain and in which sequence and to what extent and in what style for what result, he should carryout all his activities. She says, O' Varuna God, the God of Rains ! You should never hesitate to generously rain as, it is your natural characteristic. You enter into the depths of the ocean, drink lots of water, fill your entire stomach, upto the neck and then making big sound elevate upwards and pervade through out the sky. Like the body of Lord Srimannarayana who is the creator of all the things and the time, you make your body black. Like that of the dazzling discus in the right hand of the beautiful broad shouldered Lord Narayana, you flash the lightening and then, like that of the Conch in the left hand of the Lord, you should make a big sound of sustained stable thundering and then, like that of the rain of arrows released from the bow of the Lord, you shoot the waters to fall as rain, such that, the rains bring only happiness to the people on this Earth and also we can take a shower in it as a part of our Vratham, you now rain without any delay !ma:yanai mannu vadamadurai maindanaiththu:ya peruni:r yamunaith thuraivanaia:yar kulaththinil tho:nrum manivilakkaitha:yaikkudal vilakkam seyda da:mo:daranai thu:yo:ma:y vandu na:m thu:malar thu:viththozhuduva:yina:rpa:di manaththina:l sindikkapo:yappizhaiyum pugudaruva: ninranavumthi:yinilth thu:sa:gum seppe:lo:remba:va:i || In this song A:nda:l is showing us the way how to worship Lord in the best but easiest way. Lord Krishna who has taken incarnation in the Northern part of Madhura, to save those who adore to Him, is the one with the mysterious characteristics and Divine sport. He is the king of Madhura, the place that's always associated with the Lord. Lord Krishna is the one who always stands on the bank of the holy waters of the river Yamuna. He is like a glowing sacred lamp born in the cowherds caste. He is the one, Damodara, who glorified the womb of his mother. We should worship such Lord Sri Krishna, with the purity of not seeking anyother benefits from Him, by sprinkling the flowers on Him, by singing mouthfully, the glory of His holy traits (Kalyana Gunas) thinking him constantly in our heart, then, all the sins which are due in stock (sanchitha Pa:pa:s) and the sins that are about to materialise, they all get burnt down like that of a streak of cotton having fallen into a rapid fire. Hence, let us sing His holy names.
