Rs.51 crore devotee accommodations at Tirumala soon

TIRUPATI, FEB.3, 2005 (TIRUPATITIMES.COM)

Three massive pilgrim accommodation complexes named after Panchyajanya, Sri Mahalakshmi and Kowsthubham would be built at a cost of Rs.51 Crore at Tirumala, the famous hill abode of Lord Venkateswara soon.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Board that administers the hill temple, in its monthly meeting held on the hills today has also decided to install the granite deities of "Astadikpalakas" at eight corners on the four streets encircling the hill shrine at a cost of Rs. 38 lakh, TTD Chairman, Dr. T.Subbirami Reddy who headed the meeting told the media persons.

A Rs.9.5 Crore pilgrim accommodation complex in the name of " madhavam" would also be constructed on the open ground close to Srinivasam pilgrim accommodation complex near Central Bus Station in Tirupati, Dr. Reddy said.

Interestingly, TTD has resolved to conduct "Loka Kalyana Maha Yagam" for World Peace on the hills once in three months, Dr. Reddy added.

Dr. T.Subbirami Reddy who was inducted as Minister of State for Mines by the Prime Ministe, Manmohan Singh in the recent Cabinet expansion, has today created history by presiding over the autonomous TTD Board in his capacity as its' Chairman. When scribes asked, Dr. Reddy has made no clear comment over his two different posts. However, TTD sources said that Dr. Reddy may keep his TTD Post till June this year when the two year term of the Board ends. http://www.tirupatitimes.com/

I think establishing deities of ashta dikpAlakas is not correct. It

is a move to slowly introduce demi-god worship, digging out some

provisions in the Agama which are not really in practice. Any

comments from members?

Mr.Vishnu, This is not surprising. Most of the practises as laid out by Udayavar are not being followed of late. The Suprabatham sevai is now at 1 a.m. Now with the advent of the new congress govt., it has got worse. regards, Sanjay kumarVishnu <vsmvishnu wrote: , "amudala satyanarayana" <scribesatya wrote:>> > Rs.51 crore devotee accommodations at Tirumala soon> > > I think establishing deities of ashta dikpAlakas is not correct.
