Tirumala, the famous hill abode of Lord Vennkateswara is being readied with all preparations including the installations of dozens of huge illuminated cut-outs of Hindu mythological characters for the successful conduct of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavam festivals that will begin with the hoisting of traditional Garuda flag atop the sacred Dwajasthambham at the shrine by the senior priests in the evening on Monday.

 

TTD Board Chairman, Mr. B. Karunakara Reddy said today that the Andhrapradesh Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in accordance with three decade old practice, would be offering a set of silk cloths on behalf the state government to the Lord on the inaugural day of the mega festival.

 

The sacred processions of the Lord Venkateswara daily in the morning and night as part of the Navaratri festival would be made available live on the Internet for the benefit of millions of devotees across the globe, he said.Over two lakh devotee are expected for the most sacred event of the mega festival, " Garuda Seva Procession" of the Lord, at 9 pm on September 29, he said adding that unprecedented high profile security arrangements with round the clock surveillance on the hills, both the up and down ghat roads and the 10 km long pilgrims stepping foot-path have been made to prevent any untoward incident during the festival. http://www.tirupatitimes.com/
