RamanAma- Sri Rama kheda is duhkha and khedha bhAva is one who has duhkha. dhayAvAn- one who is full of mercy. inathEjah- lustre like the Sun. Ina means Sun. sugaH-easy to approach (sukhEna gamyathe) kAdhimOdhA sahAtha- kam (jalam)adhanthi ithi kAdhinah, those who take in (Achamana) water, means the sages. mOdhAsAhAtha- modham , joy, asyanthi- throw away ; mOdhasAh those who throw away the joy of the sages, meaning the rAkshasas.ThAn hAtha one who destroys them, meaning Rama. Ripou - in the enemy, Parasurama, the son of Renuka, RenukagAthraja ( gAthra meaning body) Anathe,when humbled. rasame - rasA is earth, amathi means roaming, rasAm amathi ithi rasAmah, one who traverses the whole earth; bhoorume -bhuvah uruH, more than the earth, mA- lakshmeeH, wealth, both epithets qualifying Parasurama. svabhasa- by his luminsecence, athApee- cool. sloka in reverse mErubhoojEthragA kANurE gosumE sA arasA bhAsvatha hA sadha mOdhika thEna vA pArijAthena peethA navA yAdhave abhAth akhEdha samAnamara Rukmini, became distasteful of all flowers on earth which have very little smell, having obtained the parijatha flower while being in Raivathaka mountain that vanquished even the Meru. She looked as though she acquired a new body, with the lustre of the flower , shining white, with Krishna, resembling a divine being, free of sorrow and always pleasing. meru bhoo jEthragA- Raivathaka mountain where Narada came to Krishna who was with Rukmini. It is called the one which vanquished even the Meru by its glory, none the less due to Krishna's presence in it.mErubhoo means the region of Meru.jEthr is the one who won over.aga is mountain. sA-that Rukmini, arasA- without rasa,taste for gosuma, flower(suma) of earth(go), kANura giving very little pleasure and hence she had no taste for it. ka means joy, aNu means as little as an atom, rA means giving. sadhAmOdhithA- always giving joy. akhEdha- without sorrow, khedha meaning sorrow. bhAsvatha - by that shining (parijatha flower) peetha- white, normally peetha means yellow but here it may denote the white lustre. navA- new, as if acquired a new form abhAth- shone. samAnAmarA- equal to a divine being, meaning that she shone as though acquiring a new divine body.; Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
