Sri Maha Sudarsana Homam 07/13/2007 to 07/15/2007Dear Devotees,Sri Balaji Temple of Great Lakes is glad to invite you for Sri Maha Sudarshana Loka Shanthi Homam Celebration for 3 days from 07/13/2007 Friday to 07/15/2007 Sunday.Yajnam(Homam) is worship invoking the respective deity through agni (fire), a symbol of purity. Of the five yajnas – bhuta, pitru, deva, manushya (athiti) and brahma – the one invoking Srî Bhagavan Himself has universal benefit. Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram asserts: Yajno yajna-patir-yajva yajnango yajnya-vahanah,Yajnabhrud yajnakrud yajnî yajnabhrug yajnasadhanah,Yajnantakrud yajnaguhyam annam annada eva chaHe is Himself the yajna, and offers the fruit of yajna; He is the Performer of the yajna. He accepts yajna as an accessory to His own actions and helps in performing the yajna and culminates it. He created the yajna for whose sake they are conducted. He is the enjoyer of the yajna, and an accessory. He is the one who even produces the fruits of the yajna and finally the secret of the yajna itself.Yajnam be performed at our temple from July 13 to 15th, 2007 to eliminate the rampant violence everywhere in the world, and to establish santi (peace). It is also appropriate that the worship is conducted in this country which leads the secular peace efforts. A yajnam comprises the performer, the yajamana (beneficiary) and the Deity to whom the appeal is directed. As the name implies, the beneficiary of Loka santi Yajna is not just an individual but the entire lokam (world) and the Deity is Almighty HimselfPROGRAM SCHEDULEDay -1 Fri Jul 13, 2007 Anukya 6:00 pm Vishwaksena Aradhanam, Punyahavaachanam 6:15 pm Maha Sankalpam 7:00 pm Raksha Bandhanam 7:15 pm Vasthu Shanthi Homam 7:30 pm Mantrapushpam, Maha Aarthi & Satrumurai 8:30 pm Prasadam 8:45 pm
