Dear All,

Broadmindedness

Once a visitor tells Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharishi

that he was being a very narrow-minded person, as he

was sitting in one place doing Self-enquiry, unmindful

of the world around withot attempting to help or serve

all.

To this Bhagavan replied, ” You identify yourself with

your body and limit yourself to just that. I identify

myself with the self which is everything beyond all

boundaries and limitless. Therefore I am the one who

is truly “broad-minded” .

Regards

Dear Sri Ravishankar, This is again not in line with Ramanuja school of thought. Here, soul is finite and is subservient to the limitless. It is feared in this school of thought that one may become further egoisitic and narrow-minded if one assumes onself to be God.
