Tirupati, Aug.14, 2008 (Tirupatitimes.com)

Three days after, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) which manages the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala near here has on Thursday made a "U" turn on its earlier severe action taken against its staff by revoking the suspension orders issued on three of its senior officials for their alleged dereliction of duties in the controversial 300 gold coins disappearance case.

The termination orders issued on the OSD of Lord's ornaments treasury, Mr. N. Seshadri popularly known as dollar Seshadri, who was on xtension even after his retirement, was also cancelled, TTD Board Chairman, Mr. B. Karunakara Reddy told media persons this afternoon. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of TTD Board held on the hills today, he said.

A blessed official, Mr. A.V. Dharma Reddy, Special Officer of TTD working on the hills bas been ordered to submit a detailed and unbiased report on the missing of gold coins, the TTD Chairman added.

Based on the recent confidential report in the gold coins case submitted by a senior IPS Officer TTD Chief Vigilance Officer, Mr. B.V. Ramana Kumar, the TTD Executive Officer, Mr.K.V.Ramanachary on Monday last, has suspended three senior officials including two Deputy Executive Officers and also terminated Mr. Seshadri from his responsibilities of OSD of Lord's Ornaments which worth runs in to several thousands of crores.

The 10,000 strong staff of TTD expressed their resentment over the suspension of three officials who were already given clean chit by the CBCID which investigated the gold coins missing case in 2006.

The entire staff working at the TTD headquarters here have boycotted from attending duties and staged a sit-in for three days to protest against the suspensions.

The Executive Officer, Mr. Ramana who defended his action for two days in the media had to bend on the third day owing to the pressure from different quarters and the agitating TTD Staff at the admin building here, sources said.

The TTD Board, which only empowered for withdrawal of suspension and termination, has convened its emergency meeting on the hills today and cancelled the orders of the Executive Officer.

Meanwhile, rumours are doing rounds in the air that the Chief Vigilance Officer and the Executive Officer were upset over the developments in TTD.
