PrANa: JeevAni indhriya jeevAni sapta SeershNyA: prANA: SooryA: iti AchAryA: = AchAryAs say that the seven SooryAs ( Sapta SooryA:) are the same as the seven PrANa Vaayus residing in the seven orifices of the head ( SeershNyA: PrANA:) known also as the JeevAtAra saktis or Indhriya saktis . yEtAn sapta SooryAn aham apaSyam iti VaatsyAyana: PanchakarNa: PlAkshi sapta KarNasccha =The two rishis,Sage Vatsa's son ( VaatsyAyana:), Pancha KarNa rishi and Sage Plakshar's son , Sapta KarNa Rishi declare : " I have seen these seven SooryAs ( yEtAn aham sapta SooryAn apaSyam) ". Notes: (1) PraNan moves around the seven orifices ( Mouth , two holes associated with the nose,two ears and two eyes). These are the saptha PrANAs or saptha Sooryans. 2) Prutvee,Appu,tEyu,Vaayu, AkASam, Mahath and ahankAram are the seven Tattvams and the power behind these seven Sooryans . 3) The Five Jn~Endhriyams along with manas and Buddhi also make up another set of seven . MuNDaka Upanishad passage (2.1.3) explains the Veda Rahasyam of One Tattvam splititng into seven and spreading itself in the context of Seven PrANans and seven Sooryans : Sapta PrANA: prabhavanti tasmAt saptArhcisha: samidha: sapta hOmA ( jihvA:) sapta imE lOkA yEshu charanti orANA guhASayA nihitA: sapta sapta ( Meaning according to Dr.NSA Swamy): From that Akshara Purusha emerge the seven sense organs , the seven fires, the sacrificial fuel , and the seven flames , and the seven worlds in which move the sense organs that are deposited ( by the creator) in groups of seven and seven .
