Guest guest
SrI: Dear AaasthikAs : It gives me great pleasure to invite your attention to the release of three new monographs by the SatsampradhAya PrachAra VichakshaNa Sri Anbil Ramaswamy , who is well known to you all for his tireless Kaimkaryams to serve the Aastika Communities all over the world in an outstanding manner thru expanding the outreach of SrI Ranga Sri , giving UpanyAsams and releasing many monographs housing treasures from his extensive research . The first of these monographs is the monumental book entitled " Hinduism Rediscovered " , an anthology of wide ranging topics relating to Hinduism . This is a veritable reference manual where the unique doctrines of Hinduism are covered in a lucid way .This was released in 2004 . Next year , Sriman Anbil Swamy released the Volume on " Myths, Miracles and Mysticism--what do they signify? With considerable panache , Anbil Swamy explored the connections between the 3 Ms that have fascinated many brilliant minds all over the world. He treads very carefully in outlining the three Ms and giving copious references from all walks of life . The above two alone would have been sufficient to rest on his laurels but the inquiring mind of Swamy found new areas to cover , both SampradhAyic and otherwise . These strivings have led to the release of three more books by the prolific author , which are testaments to his wide ranging scholarship in sampradhAyic as well as in areas of soft sciences . The first of these three books is : " Pearls of Wisdom from Srimad RamayaNam ". The distinguished lectures that Anbil Swamy gave at the Hindu Temple of Atlanta, Georgia provide the content for this eminently readable book on this Aadhi Kaavyam. Srimukhams from Sri VaishNava AchArya Saarvabhoumars confer sanctity to this Monograph . Anbil Swamy has selected key passages from the six Cantos of Srimath RaamAyaNam and focused on them . The famous passage , " Vatsa Raama! Dhanu: pasya ! iti Raaghavam aBraveeth " is one such item used to elaborate on the many meanings brought out by KaalakshEpa adhikAris . Anbil Swamy has imbibed a great deal from the kaalakshEpams from many illustrious AchAryAs including his own AchAryan , HH Poundarikapuram Srimath Andavan , an authority on Srimath RaamAyaNam . adiyEn recommends Anbil Swamy's monograph on Srimad RamayaNam for its rich content , lucid style and connoseiur's approach in selecting from " the pearls of wisdom" strewn across the seven KhANDams . The graphics by "Vedhaa " ( cover design and pictures inside) are a treat to the eye . The other two monographs are : 1. Beliefs , Faiths and Superstitions , Where is the dividing line ?" . This is a 139 page book with ample bibiliography on the beliefs , Faiths and Superstitions in various traditions .In the preface , Anbil Swamy elaborates on what are beliefs ( non-religious and Religious) , faiths ( benign and malignant varieties) and Superstitons . He discusses the interrelationships between the three . Across the chapters of this book , Anbil Swamy catalogs the way in which the human behavior ( custom , Habits and Manners) is shaped by Beliefs , Faiths and superstitions for better or worse. It is a thought provoking assembly of the way in which from different corners of the globe relate to ordinary and extraordinary happenings in their daily lives . 2) " Dreams , Omens and Moles" --Do they really influence our lives ? is the other book . Anbil Swamy frames the question about the impact --some times devastating-- of these Dreams and Omens and birth marks . This is the third book in " The Explaining the Unexplained" series . Although it is a challenge to explain the unexplainable , Anbil Swamy has handled the tricky subject matter with considerable aplomb and invites the readers to draw their own conclusions . He enlists " some reasonable and some weird intrepretations leaving a fertile ground for your own imagination to run riot ". It has been my pleasure to read the three recent books of Anbil Swamy and recommend them to you for your libraries . Please contact Anbil Swamy by phone (770-434-9596 or send him e-mail to him at ramanbil to order your copies .
