Guest guest
Sri: Dear Swamins - In Srivaishnava sampradayam Koil is a term that refers to Srirangam and the condensed form of Thiruvaimozhi recited here is referred as Koil Thiruvaimozhi . Also Thiruvaimozhi was recited by Nammalwar for only this perumal as the oldest named for Periya perumal is Narayanan so it also empahises that Thiruvaimozhi is sung only for the perumal residing in Srirangam.aDiyen dAsan,Anand--- On Tue, 9/15/09, Dr.V.Sadagopan <yennappan wrote: Dr.V.Sadagopan <yennappanFw: Question on Koil Thiruvaimozhi"Ponnappan" <Oppiliappan >, "Swami" , "Sgt" <saranagathi >, "SG" <Tiruvenkatam >, "IRS" Tuesday, September 15, 2009, 9:33 PM - "Srini Melpakkam" <srinimr >"Dr.V.Sadagopan" <yennappan (AT) computer (DOT) net>Cc: "Rajagopalan Thiruvenkatachary" <rajagopalan. t; "Suchitra Srinivasan" <suchisrini >; "Parthasarathy Aravamudhan" <send2partha@ gmail.com>; "Gayathri Nadathur" <gayathrink (AT) hotmail (DOT) com>; <srinimr >Tuesday, September 01, 2009 11:53 AMQuestion on Koil ThiruvaimozhiDear Swamin, adiyen has a question on Koil Thiruvoimozhi and seek your insight. Please can you let us know what is the significance of "Koil Thiruvoimozhi" and why it is called so.Would greatly appreciate your insights.dAsan,Srinivasan. Guest guest
The term " koil'. the " home of the Lord " , donotes Srirangam, which has been dubbed by Thirumangai AzhwAr as " periya koil " , the abode of namperumAL and periya pirAtti. Periya koil, along with a few others, has been one of the key places for araiyar sEva; and it is this group of learned scholars who have recognized certain pAsurams in thiruvAymozhi a having key messages for all of us. When time does not permit to recite all 1000 verses of thiruvAymOzhi of the Lord, the adhyApakas recite these pAsurams. Over time this set of pAsurams have to come to be known as koil thiruvAymozhi. They now are a part of home worship, as well as regular temple worship. adiyEn Mohan On Tue, 15 Sep 2009 19:33:58 -0600, Dr.V.Sadagopan <yennappan wrote: > > - > " Srini Melpakkam " <srinimr > " Dr.V.Sadagopan " <yennappan > Cc: " Rajagopalan Thiruvenkatachary " <rajagopalan.t; " Suchitra > Srinivasan " <suchisrini; " Parthasarathy Aravamudhan " > <send2partha; " Gayathri Nadathur " <gayathrink; > <srinimr > Tuesday, September 01, 2009 11:53 AM > Question on Koil Thiruvaimozhi > > > Dear Swamin, > > adiyen has a question on Koil Thiruvoimozhi and seek your insight. > Please can you let us know what is the significance of " Koil > Thiruvoimozhi " > and why it is called so. > > Would greatly appreciate your insights. > > dAsan, > Srinivasan. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
