753. amaanee

 

Maanee means

one who is proud and maanee is the

one who is not proud.Krishna was not too proud to go as a messenger and act as

a charioteer to Pandavas. And He even washed the feet of the guests during the

rajasuya yaga of Yudhishtira.

maana

also means measure and He is amaanee ,

meaning immeasurable.

 

754.maanadhaH

 

He who honours others. bhakthaanaam maanam dhadhaathi, honours

His devotees and takes off the pride from the arrogant as in the case of

Mahabali.maanam dhyathi. Also He

removes the pride of possessions from those who know the truth.

Supporter of the three

worlds.Krishna says on Gita, vishtabhyaaham

imam krthsnam EkaamSena sThitho jagath, "I pervade the whole universe and

support the three worlds by an infinitsmal part of Mine."

Of superior intellect .

 

759. meDhajaH

 

Born as a result of sacrifices or austerities done by

Vasudeva and Devaki.

 

760. DhanyaH

 

One who excels in wealth

and dharma. For the Lord His wealth is the bhaktha and He Himself is the

dharma.aachaaraprabhavo dharmo dharmasya

prabhuH achyuthaH

 

761. sathya meDhaaH

 

He is of true knowledge. Sathyam jnaanam anantham Brahma

 

762. DharaaDharaH

 

Dharaa means

the earth and the Lord is the DharaaDhara, supports it. As DharaaDhra also

means a mountain this nama has reference to His uplifting of Govardhana.

 

763.thejovrshaH

 

He showers His splendour in the form of His grace.Krishna

showered His love and protection on the people of Gokulam. He is the Sun, thejaH who showers rain vrshaH.

The word vrsha being taken as

dharma, His thejas, glory is dharma.

 

764. dhuthiDharaH

 

dhyothathe prakaaSathe ithi dhuthiH. That which shines. dhuthiScha asou DharasCha ithi dhyuthiDharaH.

Krishna shone with glory from His infancy.

 

765. sarvaSasthravchrthaam varaH

 

The best among all

wielders of weapons. Invincible.

 

766.pragrahaH

 

As pragraha means reins

this has reference to Krishna as the

charioteer of Arjuna, ParTha saarathy. Pragraha

in general sense means the controller of all.

 

767. nigrahaH

 

The subduer. One who keeps

everything in check.

 

768. vyagraH

 

viH agre yasya, the one who has the bird Garuda in front, as His vehicle.

 

769.naikaSrnghaH

 

One who has many fronts to

His valour and also grace. He adopted several tactics in the mahabharatha war

to cause victory to Pandavas. Srnga taken as vak,or the peak, it means the four

Vedas which serve as the peaks to His glory.

 

770.gadhaagrajaH

 

The elder brother of Gadha

, a son of Vasudeva by another wife.
