NAMPILLAI - THIRUNAKSHATHIRAM-KARTHIGAYIL KARTHIGAI NAL

Even after thorough study, we can only have a peep into swAmi nampiLLai's

brilliance.

thiru voi mozhi 10-10-10

'sUzhndh-aganR-Azhndh-uyarndha, mudivil perum-pAzhEyO,

sUzhndh-adhanil periya para-nan-malar-sUdhEyO,

sUzhndh-adhanil periya chudar gnAna inbamEyO,

sUzhndh-adhanil periya, en ava-aRach sUndhAyE

summary: In this pAsuram,AzhwAr describes how the desire of emberumAn overtakes

and encompasses his desire which itself is bigger than the three thatvams.

1st line- 'peurm pAzh'

The prakruthi thathvam is described here. The inner soul of prakrithi thatvam is

being invoked

2nd line-'para nan malar sOdhE "

The bigger thathvam than the abovementioned prakruthi namely Athmathathvam is

indicated and the inner soul of this Athmathathvam is invoked.

3rd line-'sudar gnAna inbam'.

Still bigger than both the above thatvam who permeates in the above both

thathvam being emberumAn is being mentioned here.

Is there anything bigger than the above three? Yes.AzhwAr's desire to attain

emberumAn.'

Is there anything bigger than the above desire- which is bigger than the prior

mentioned three? Yes. emberumAn's desire attaining the AzhwAr which makes

AzhwAr's desire appear very small.- Fourth Line.

The fourth line is simply described in a single sentence by swAmi nampiLLai

which highlights His brilliance.

Edu vAkyam is as follows:

'thathvathrayathaiyum viLAk-kulai koNdu'

thathvathrayam - chith , achith and Eswaran. chith is the second line namely

para-nan-malar-sOdhE.

Achith is prakrithi thathvam mentioned in the first line - perum pAzh.

Eswaran is 'sudar gnAna inbam' mentioned in the third line.

viLAk kulai koLLudhal- contents piercing out of bounds. If the contents of a bag

is bigger than the bag, the contents pierce out of the bag and protrude by

piercing. That is viLak kulai koLLudhal.

Simiarly, the desire of AzhwAr and emberumAn pierce out of the three

thathvams-chith, achith and EswarAn.

Thus in two words, swAmi nampiLLai lucidly puts the meaning in the context

precisely.
