Guest guest
sAra sangraham The next pAsuram representing the term 'prapathyE' in the fifth pathu of thiru voi mozhi is " ennAn seigEAn?, yArE kaLai kaN ennai en seiginRai? vunnAl allAl yAvarAlum vonRum kuRai vEandEan, ..... " 5-8-3. The Edu avadhArigai of this pAsuram aptly summarizes the essence of AzhwAr's mindset: " ippadi nasai aRRap pOlE thudithuk kidandha idathilum, kulira nOkkudhal, vinavudhal, seivAraip pOlE, pERu thammadhAnAl peRuvARkkum, sila seiya vENumenRu, irundhAn Agak koNdu, nAn en kAriyam seigai enRu vonRundO, nE seidhu, thalikattith tharavEnum engirAR " Even in the phase of suffering from pangs of separation The Lord did not bless the AzhwAr nor enquire about him. On this, AzhwAr thought that The Lord is waiting for AzhwAr to do something -fulfill something on his part, is there anything for me(us) to do. You have to bless and complete my task is AzhwAr's plea. It is obvious from the above that there is nothing separate like means-which only separates us from the Lord(nal vEdu seiyyum-thiruvirutham 95)- and only the Lord has to bless and rescue us. This reflects again the great conviction of AzhwAr. The next pAsuram is " vuzhalai ..... kazhalgaL avaiyE charaN Agak koNda kurughOrch satakopan " 5-8-11. The Lord's thiruvadi is taken refuge by AzhwAr -the thiruvadi which grants the desired end and removes the obstacles. This refuge again reflects the great conviction vis-a-vis " charaNam prapathyE " vAnamAmalai padmanAbhan
