Guest guest
engaL male sAbam iyindhEalo The twenty-second thiruppavai pasuram-s ends with the term " angaN irandum koNdu engaL meal nOkkudhiyEal,engaL male sAbham iyindhElo " . Oh! Lord please bless us with your divine eyes. All our sins/curses will be decimated. Will the curses be destroyed on perumAL's thirukkaN kadAkthsam. AchArya Hridhaym -95 is very clear in this aspect. The sUthram is " sramaNE vidhura hrishipathnigaLai bhUdharAkkina pundarikAsha nedunOkku sAbam iyindhennap paNNumiRE " . Those souls who have been amidst the cycle of births for a long long time, gets released on emperumAn's thirukkaNgaL kadAksham. is it possible for this to happen? For this, three events are taken as precedents. 1. sabarE. 2. vidhurar. 3. hrishi pathnE. srE rAmA Himself voluntarily approached sabari, who was from the hunting clan and blessed her with His eyes. " You have with your divine eyes made me pure. I am going to attain the world from which there is no return " is sabarI's emotional outburst on receipt of blessings from srI rAmA. kambarAmAyaNam AraNya kANdam 'Andavan anbin ethi azhudhiyi aruvik kaNNan mAndadhen mAyap pAsam; vandhadhu varambil kAlam pUNda mAdhavathin selvam; pOyadhu piravi enbAL.. " 2. Lord krishNa visited vidhurar's residence-like water approaching a low lying place- voluntarily and enjoyed the vidhurar's feast and blessed HIm with His cool divine eyes. The Lord took food in vidhurar's residence, vidhurar being a soul who did not expect anything quid-pro-quo.The Lord's uninhibited vision on vidhurA made vidhurar pure- removing all the curses/sins in him 3. The hrishi pathnI-s in bhatha vilOchanam were not freely permitted to visit Lord krishNA.Lord krishNA's divine eye's blessings from a distance gave her salvation and cleansed all other hrishi pathni's from their curses/sins. Thus the above 3 incidents are narrated to highlight that emperumAn's eye's blessings will instantly remove our curses/sins and lead to salvation. The commentary by sri maNavALa mAmunikaL is very appropriate in this context. " angaN iraNdum koNdu engaL male nOkkudhiyEal,engaL meale sAbam iyindhu " =as mentioned in this thiruppAvai pAsuram, emperumAn's divine optical grace decimates all the sins and curses.Curses are nullified only when their bad effects are experienced by the concerned soul. However, emperumAn's thirukadAksham even removes this condition. 'anubhavithAl alladhu ayiyAdha engaL pAvamAnadhu pOividum' is the expression here. The grace of emperumAn destroys all the curses-which can be normally nullified only by exprienceing and also His thirukkaN kadAksham makes the point of the grace cleansed of all impurities. swAmi azhagia maNavALap peurmAl nAyanAr thiruvadigaLE saraNam. vAnamAmalai padmanAbhan
