Swamy’s kainkaryams: Swamy did all the charama kainkaryams to his acharyan Sri ThiruvEnkata rAmAnuja Jeeyer swamy and also celebrated the thiruadyayanam in a very grand manner according to the practices of elders. Swamy then stayed in the kainkaryam of sirivaramangai samEtha Sri deivanAyaka perumal along with number of shisyas, showing deep interest in kalashepams and doing many great kainkaryams. Swamy cultivated a beautiful garden with number of sweet smelling flowers (chenpakam, punnAgam, ashOka, kimsuka, palAsa, pAdali, pArijAtha) and delicious tasty fruit trees (palakadali, jambeera, Amlaka, panasa, kramuka, Amra, Amla, nAlikEra, nArangam). The garden was so attractive that it was filled with peacocks and various types of bees enjoying themselves, making sounds of joy, very pleasant to one’s ears. To add to the beauty of the garden swamy constructed a pond with tasty water in the middle. The pond was filled with lotus and lilly flowers. Many birds (hamsa, chakravAhana) were found in the pond, which made the place a real natural beauty. Beauty is god’s creation and it is for his pleasure. So swamy constructed a beautiful mandapam inside the garden for deivanAyaka perumal to rest during yAthrOtsavam. Inside the mandapam, a pushpagam (place for perumal to be seated) was constructed with beautiful golden pillars. Then swamy made vessels (gold and silver) for thiruvArAdhanam for deivanAyaka perumal. Further swamy made a beautiful golden abhEthya kavasam for perumal. Swamy then made beautiful gem studded crown and other jewels for deivanAyakan and thAdaka kundalams (ear drops), golden jadai (thirumudi) and araisalangai for nAchiyAr. Continuing with the kainkaryam swamy made golden kavachams for all the divine parts of perumal and also karnapathram (kavacham for the ear), kandasaram, ThiruvAzhi, thirusangu all out of gold. Not stopping with this, swamy submitted variety of silk dresses, peedhAmbharams to both deivanAyaka perumal and sirivaramangai nAchiyAr. Not satisfied with decorating perumal and thAyar swamy then decorated the nithya peedam (daily seat of perumal and thayar) with decorative clothes on the top and silky, soft hamsa dhoolika pillows and cushions with beautiful covers over them. Swamy then submitted a beautiful chandra prabhai, elegant and decorated with beautiful sculptures. Followed by prabhai swamy made an “Alum pallakku” (special type of palanquin) and finally a beautiful ratham for deivanAyaka perumal. Then swamy submitted a new chatram and a sAmaram (used for fanning for perumal) for deivanAyakan. In the mutt, swamy built a mandapam named senAnee mandapam for the mruthsangrahanOtsavam. Inside the sannadhi, swamy built a big and beautiful mandapam for adyayanOtsavam. Then swamy submitted 2 beautiful palanquins for perumal out of which perumal accepted one and honored jeeyer with the other with great pleasure and happiness. Swamy’s kainkaryam during his 32-year tenure is exotic and we need 1000 mouths like adhisesha to say all of them. So we stop with this and in the next posting we will see how swamy graced the next jeeyer of the vAnamAmalai mutt.
