AchArya hridhayam

It is not only customary but a mark of reverence to commence with the

introduction of the author and the workAchArya hridhayam is a work done by Sri

azhagia manavALap perumAL nAyanAr.

Sri azhagia manavALap perumAL nAyanAr is the second son of sri vadakkuth

thiruvEdhip piLlai and younger brother of sri piLLai lokAcharyar. He lived in

the thirteenth century. His other works include commentary for

thiruppavai-Arayirappadi, amalanAdhip pirAn, kaNNinuN siruthAmbhu.

It goes without saying that Sri azhagia manavALap perumAL nAyanAr mastered all

the commentaries of thiru voi mozhi, as he was the son of swAmi vadakkuth

thiruvEdhip piLLai who made the Edu commentary of thiru voi mozhi in script Sri

azhagia manavALap perumAL nAyanAr resided in Sri Rangam and was a brahmachAri.

Since, this work brings out the mind of our AchAryan -swAmi nam AzhWar- this

work is termed as 'AchArya hridhayam'
