Guest guest
AchArya Hridhyam sUthram-14 " vatsaliyAna mAtha, piLlai bEghaniyAmal maN thinna vittu, prethi aushadham idumap pOle, evvuyirkum thAyirukkum vaNNamAna ivanum, ruchikku EdAga bhandhamum, bhandham aRuppadhOr, marundhum, kAttumiRE " Introduction: As seen in the introduction herein earlier, the first 15 sUthram-s deal with discerning with the good and bad and the Lord blessing us with knowledge-vivEgam-through sAsthrangaL. Now , a question is asked. If the Lord wants us to attain knowledge through sAsthrangaL and liberate us from this world, why should He show us this worldly pleasures including heaven etc. but did not just stop with giving sAsthrangaL,which lead us to salvation? This sUthram is an explanation for this enquiry. Summary: The mother who is everloving(vathsalai) towards her child, initially allows the child to eat sand-( though it is not good for health) as the child wants to eat the sand and if prohibited may start crying-and subseqently gives an antidote for that effect. similarly, the Lord, who is the MOther for one and all, showers His love on all the souls and bestows them with attraction akin to their tastes and also gives the remedy to sever the attraction. Hence, though the fact that allowing worldly pleasures to the souls may not be beneficial to the souls, as it is done with the good intention, the accusation that such allowances amount to a blemish, is not tenable. Explanation to formation of the sUthram: " evvuyirkkum, thAyirukkum vaNNamAna " " evvuyirkkum " has been taken from " ellA evvuyirkkum thAyOn " thiru voi mozhi 1-5-3 " thAyirukkum vaNNamE " from periya thiru mozhi 11-6-6. " bhandhamum, bhandham aRuppadhOr marundhum " from periya thiru mozhi 5-7-2. " bhEganiyAmal " from 'pin chenRu kAdhal kOrap bEzh kaNithu iranguginRa' kamba Ramayanam kishkinthA kAndam. vAnamAmalai padmanAbhan.
