thiru voi mozhi nURRandhAdhi

" onRum ilaith dhEvu ivvulagam padaitha mAl, anRi

ena Arum aRiyavE, nanRaga mUdhalithup pEasi arul

moi maghizhOan thAL thozhavE kAdhalikkum

ennudai ya kai " -40

1. This pAsuram is representative of the thriu voi mozhip pAsuram " onRum dhEavum

vulagum.. " 4-10. Both start with the words

'onRum' .

2. The substance of the thiru voi mozhi basically expresses and substantiates

the fact the Lord is the creator of the soul and worlds and also the demi-gods.

These demi-gods who are sought by the people of the world are also created by

the Lord. The same sentiment is expressed in this pAsuram.

The first pAsuram of thiru voi mozhi " onRum dhEvum, vulagum vuyirum maRRum

yAdhumillA anRu, nAnmugan thannOdu dhEvar vulagOdu, vuyir padaithan... " and

second pAsuram " nAdi nEr vaNangum dheivamum vummaiyum mun padaithAn... "

4-10-1and 4-10-2 respectively.

This pAsuram mentions in the first line " onRum ilaith dhEvu ivvulagam padaitha

mAl, anRi ena Arum aRiyavE.. " thus expressing the same fact.

3. The pAsuram ends with the term 'kai' which is also the first word of the next

padhigam of thiru voi mozhi " kai Ar chakkarathu.. " 5-1.

4. moi maghizhOn thAL thozhavE in the last line of the pAsuram praises swAmi nam

AzhwAr.
