Then he was graced by kaliyan ramanuja swamy and learnt manthrArtham, bhashyam and bhagavat vishayam from kaliyan swamy. Due to his deep vairAkyam swamy took up his sanyasa from kaliyan swamy at a very early age of 29 and was named nAthan jeeyer. The later story of his kainkaryam, yathra and how he became the 21st pontiff of Vanamamalai mutt has already been talked about. Swamy’s Kainkaryam Swamy with great grief finished all the final rites to his acharyan who attain the divine abode of emperuman in Nathan koil and after the successful completion of the thiruadhyayanam returned back to Vanamamalai. Coming to know about the arrival of madurakavi ramanuja jeeyer swamy devanAyaka perumal sent his thirumalai, thiruparivattam and other respective honours through his close devotees to welcome swamy. Thereby the adiyars along with number of srivaishnavas welcomed swamy with great respect amidst the sound of divine instruments and praises. Swamy pleased with the grace showered on him by deivanAyaka perumal prostrated the ghosti of srivaishnavas humbly and accepted the bhagavat prasadam with pleasure. Then swamy proceeded towards the mutt, did mangalasasanams to aranganagarappan, prostrated azhagiya varadan and sat in koormAsanam. Swamy enquired about the welfare of the elders who were crowded over there and then after presenting them with respective honours swamy proceeded to the temple to do mangalasasanams to the divine couples. There swamy submitted all that was given by the disciples on the way to his acharyan (pattu peedhAmbharangal and wealth) and had the divine darshan of emperuman. Emperuman with great happiness called Swamy as “Vanamamalai ramanuja jeeyer!” and honoured swamy with thirumalai, thiruparivattam, theertham, srisatakopan and prasadam. Swamy accepted the same with great regard and then did mangalasasanams to all other sannadhis and then returned back to the mutt and continued his kainkaryams and did grand dhadheeyArAdhanams to Srivaishnavas.
