It was seen in the earlier postings swAmi nam-piLLai's commentary was dense

with explanations on adjectives, real life examples, real life events, multiple

interpretatilons.

swAmi used to give precise definitions for general terms :

i. in the context of the pAsuram and

ii. in srevaishnavic context.

In the absence of this, the term is likely to be interpreted in a manner by one

and all to ones whims and fancies.

A pAsuram in fourth ten will highlight this aspect.

" vEdham vallArgaLaik koNdu vinnOar perumAn thiruppAdham paNindhu " thiru voi

mozhi 4-6-9;

The meaning of the line mentioned is ' The Lord be worshipped through those who

are proficient in vEdhAs'.

Now a question can be raised? What is proficiency? Does it point to those who

are great in recitaion of all the vEdhAs?Or does it indicate who are good at

memorising those important vEdhic portions? Or does it indeed signify those who

have comprehended the true import of the vEdic menaings? Or does it

swAmi nam-piLLai does not take a roundabout in this regard. The definiton is

very simple:

'sarvEswaran prApyamum, prApakamum ' enRa vEdha thAthparyam kaikkoNdavargaLaik

koNdu'. Those who have comprehended that the Lord is the means and end to attain

Him. This has been clearly underlined here as the vEdha thAthparyam, by swAmi

nam-piLLai.
