Here, the nature of the goal is discussed.This is summarised again in four padhigam-s of thiru-voi mozhi namely emmA, vozhivil, nedu and vEi. i. emmA: " emmA vEttuth thiRamum cheppam " 2-9 of thiru voi mozhi categorically spells out AzhwAr's opinion that the salvation/service to Him, should be for His sake and not for ours. " thanakkEyAga enaik koLLum EdhEA " are the key words. ii. vozhivil: " vozhivil kAlamellAm vudanAi manni adimai seiyya vENdum nAm " thiru voi mozhi 3-3; prescribes service to HIm at all places, all times. iii. nedu: " nedumARku adimai seivEan pOle " 8-10 further extends this service to His devotees rather than Him. iv. vEi: " vEi maru thOl iNai " talks to carry out the intentions of the Lord without going against His mind eventhough that may not be to fullest liking of us. " vundhan thiru vuLLam idar kedum dhORum " are the words which underscore the need for fulfilling His mind being our goal to be attained.
