The thiru-virutham and thiru-voi-mozhi first pAsuram-s contain in them the

following points also:

 

rakshaNa kramam:

thiru -virutham: 'vuyir aLippAn en ninRa yOniumAi piRandhAi' ---> The Lord

Himself takes up the task of incarnations and protects the devotees.

thiru-voi-mozhi: ' mayaRvu aRa mathi nalam aruLinan' ----> The Lord out of His

mercy grants immense knowledge which drives out the ignorance-illiteracy and

also bequeaths the requisite grasp of education for attaining knowledge -gnAnam-

and love and affection towards the Lord -bhakthi.

 

guna vigraha vibhUdhi yOgam:

 

thiru-virutham- 'imaiyOr thalaivA' referring to the Lord's supremacy over

the World is highlighted.

'imayOr' alludes to Lord's attachment towards

nithya-sUrigaL.

thiru-voi-mozhi: 'vuyarvaRa vuyar nalam' straightaway pointing at His

endless auspicious qualities.

and ' thuyar aRu sudar adi' alluding to His divine

physique-thiru-mEani.

 

Thus, the Lord's qualities, physique, attachment toward the devoees, ownership

of the whole world are all underlined here.

 

upadEsa vishayam: AzhwAr's mind, the Lord and those who are prepared to listen

and follow AzhwAr are the recepient and subject matter of the preaching.

thiru-virutham: " ninRu kEttaRuLAi " requesting the Lord to listen to

AzhwAr's request.-viNNappam.

thiru-voi-mozhi: " thozhudhu ezhu en mananE " indicating that the mind of the

Azhwar is the recepient of the words of wisdom.
