AchArya Hrhdaym sUthram 219

 

As seen in the previous post, the first ten inter-alia concentrates on the

Lord/s supremacy.

Text: " para paraNAi ninRa vaLavEzh vaippAm avaiyuL vumbar vAnavar

athipathi,maryarvaRa manni, manam vaikkath thiruthi...................... "

 

The aforementioned text portion of this sUthram reflects the Lord's quality

highlighted by Azhwar in this pathu. This is Lord's parathvam. Supremacy. the

thiru-voi-mozhi-p pAsuram that spearhead this content are listed out from the

first ten of thiru-voi-mozhi.

 

What is supremacy? The Great entity who creates,maintains, demolishing the

worlds, the Lord who is the only leader of all the universe, worlds, -nitya

vibhUthi and lElA vibhUthi-the entity whe is both the means and the end, with

endless joy,the entity who has the souls and the worlds as His

physique-sarEra/sarEri-with omnipotence, full of knowledg, the great soul being

the head of nithya sUri-s, the essential meaning of all the terms, the Lord who

grants Himself to nitya-sUrigaL for being enjoyed and so on.

 

What are the pAsuram-s :

 

----------> 'varan mudhal Ai avai muzhudhu vuNda para paran'(1-1-8)========>

creating and consumingall the worlds

including braHma, rudhrAdhigaL.

---------> " aLi poRai Ai ninRa paran... " (1-1-11)================>The Lord here

is indicated as the Supreme of both

the worlds.

---------> " vala Ezh vulagin mudhal Aya vAnOr iRai..(1-5-1)=========> The Lord

who is the prime of the worlds and

nithya sUgaL.

 

----------->'vaippAm marundhAm, adiyarai..nalathAl vuyarndhu,vuyarndhu..'

(1-7-2)=====>The Lord who is the reservoir

and repository of auspicious qualities and the resort of devotees.

 

-----------> " avaiyuL thani, mudhal emmAn'(1-9-1)=======>The Lord being the only

person in command of all the sentient

and insentient beings.

---------->'vumbar vAnavar Adhi am jOdhi (1-10-9)=======> The entity who makes

the nithya sUrigaL thirve.

 

---------->'ayarvaRum amarargaL athipathi " (1-1-1)=======>The nitya-surigaL

thalaivan.

 

What did the supreme Lord as mentioned in the above pAsuram-s do?

 

'mayarvaRa mathi nalam aruLinan' -1-1-1; and 'mayarvaRa en manathEa manni ninRAn

thannai' -1-7-4;

 

 

The Lord out of His voluntary GRace granted knowledge and eradicated igorance to

AzhwAr. This enabled all the puNNiya pApam to get nullified(sArndha iru val

vinaigaLum thERthu, than pAl manam vaikkath thiruthi) and settled down in

AzhwAr's mind.
