In this sUthram sri azhagia maNavALap perumAL nAyanAr details the contents of

second pathu.

 

The Lord who is the only cause for the creation of the world, had granted

knowledge and Grace to AzhwAr. AzhwAr wanted to attain salvation as a natural

end to the knowledge-gnAnathukku palamAna mOksham. The Lord came and graced

AzhwAr and assuaged His yearnings. This grace did not stop with AzhwAr alone

but desenced to those who are connected to AzhwAr.

 

The Lord attempted to grant mOksham, which AzhwAr rejected on the grounds of not

being tenable to His shEshithvam and shEshathvam.

Having done so, AzhwAr, lists out the basic features of supremacy of the Lord

and determines the cause by quoting one dialogue and a vision.

AzhwAr finishes this pathu by describing the negative points of this worldly

pleasures and the greatness of bhagwadh vishayam.
