Swamy’s kainkaryams (contd.)

 

As days passed swamy’s health started to deteriorate. Swamy started

meditating on the temporary nature of the body and the necessity to reach

the nithya vibhoothi for the nithya kainkaryam of emperuman. That year

during the panguni month swamy arranged for a grand utsavam to deivanAyakan.

Swamy arranged for a special decoration of the main streets with ‘pAlai,

kamugu parisudaipandal’ and the sound of divine instruments filling the air.

The celebration started with the usual grand dvajArOhanam (divine flag

hosting ceremony) and in the proper manner without any flaws the first 8-day

utsavams got over. On the nineth day, swamy’s thirumeni was filled with

great Arthi (the will to shed this body and reach the divine abode of

emperuman). Coming to know of this all the devotees gathered in front of

swamy who enquired what they all wanted? All the devotees requested for a

support to them after swamy. Swamy consoled them and sent them back. But

swamy had earlier thought of the right person to succeed him to the pattam

and has already invited Sri Ramanuja jeeyer who was earlier a jeeyer in the

manavala mAmunikal sannadhi in srivilliputtur. On the tenth day, swamy

realized that his body was filling with utmost Arthi and hence he crowned

Ramanuja jeeyer in his place. At that time swamy instructed the next jeeyer

to continue all the kainkaryams, swamy did considering it to be the

kainkaryam done by his acharya (kaliyan ramanuja jeeyer swamy) in the same

special manner considering it to be the kainkaryam done by swamy (madurakavi

ramanuja jeeyer swamy) according to the wish of the divya dampathis

(sirivaramaga sametha deivanAyaka perumal) and to continue the panguni

utsavam and mAmunikal samvatsarOtsavam in a very very grand manner as

always.

 

After that swamy requested the srivaishnavas over there to fulfill his wish

to hear the arulicheyal once. As per swamy’s order the Srivaishnavas

started recited the divine paasurams of azhvars and as they finished with

the sattrumarai swamy said, “your task has been completed and now I wait for

my task to be completed by the grace of sirivaramangai”. Swamy sat in

meditation with great tiredness. After sometime swamy in a high tone

called, “sirivarmangE!” like gajendra Azhvan who called for “AdhimoolamE!”

Not able to withstand swamy’s suffering sirivaramangai came along with

deivanAyakan over the garuda vAhanam and gave darshan to swamy. Then

through the way shown by the bhagavan the soul got released through the

susumnA nAdi broke open the skull and through the brahmarandram Jeeyer swamy

attained paramapadam. Swamy remained in the pattam for 7 years.
