Due to his lack of interest in the lowkika life he skipped 2 ashramas and directly took up sanyasa after brahmacharyam from Sri kaliyan swamy and later was crowned as Jeeyer of the mutt by Sri rAmAnuja swamy. Swamy's kainkaryams Swamy as per the poorvAcharya anushtanams completed all the rites to be performed to his acharya in a very grand manner. Then honoured by deivanAykan and sirivaramangai, swamy accepted the responsibilities of the mutt and continued with the kainkaryams of deivanAyakan sannadhi and aranganagarappan as done by his acharyas. Further swamy spent his time in kalashepams on arulicheyals and rahasya vyakhyanams. The number of disciples to swamy increased day by day (shisyAbivriththi). At this time swamy built a big, beautiful, spacious and strong mutt in Srivilliputtur outside Andal sannadhi. Swamy had a great love towards azhvar and andal and hence visited the sannadhi often and did mangalasasanams. Then swamy wanted to do mangalasasanams to other divya desams and hence after getting the permission from andal, swamy proceeded his journey towards thirumOgoor. Swamy then did mangalAsAsanams to thirumOgoor Aththan and mAlirunchOlai sundaran and then proceeded towards champakAraNyam. There swamy did mangalAsAsanams to rajagOpalan " mannappadum marai vANanai vaNthuvarApathi mannanai A-ththumin " and returned back to the mutt. In mannarkudi, the disciples requested swamy to undergo his chAturmAsya sankalpam there. Swamy accepted the request and stayed in mannarkudi for two months and underwent his chAturmAsya sankalpam. After that swamy was honoured by the disciples and then after having darshan of mannanAr and taking permission to leave swamy continued his journey to nandhipura vinnagaram and did mangalAsAsanams to nAthan stayed there for one or two days and then proceeded to do mangalAsAsanams to " kOlamAdaneedu thaNkudandhai mEya kOvalanai " (kumbakOnam AarAvamudan).
