edhuvilangu vAliyai veezhththadhu(vum)-edhuvilangai

 

thAnodunga vilnudanga thaNthArirAvaNanai

 

voonodunga veidhAn vugappu "

 

 

 

Oh! Azhveer you said that rudran is not capable to have the divine darshan of

emperuman's divine feet but you have got that divine experience. Where did you

get that divine darshan? Azhvar answers, Oh! Not only his divine feet but adiyen

has been blessed to visualize all his divine acts (leela vyApArangal) in my mind

now (mAl than pugundha mada nenjil)

 

 

 

(edhu elangai eedazhiya kattiya sEdhu) The big city of lanka orderly maintained

by ravana was shattered by Sri chakravarthi thirumagan with the help of the

bridge,sEdhu that was constructed on the ocean. Now I am able to see that sEdhu

that paved the path for the shattering of lanka, in front of me. In the

previous paasuram azhvar talked about visualizing the divine feet of emperman

" thAragala sEvadiyai yAn kAnavallErkku " now azhvar says he is able to see even

the bridge on which emperuman placed his divine feet and crossed the sea.

 

(eedazhiya kattiya) The sea served as a great protection to the lanka kingdom.

When that protection was broken by the construction of the bridge that itself

indicated the destruction of the lanka kingdom.

 

 

 

(edhu vilangu vAliyai veezhththadhuvum) Here I am able to see the killing of the

animal vaali in front of me. (vilangu vAliyai) Not only was he born as an

animal, he was also an animal by behaviour. It also indicates that since vaali

was an animal it was not a mistake of rama to kill him from behind.

 

 

 

(elangai thAn odunga vil nudanga taN thAr erAvaNanai eithAn edhu) I am able to

visualize the bombardment of lanka, bending of kothanda, killing of the demon

king ravana filled with ego and the great acts of rama

 

(elangai thAn odunga) and final destruction of lanka infront of my eyes.

 

(vil udanga) the bow is bending

 

(thaN thAr.eidhAn edhu) ravana wearing garland of cool flowers filled with ego

and pride with his head always upright is falling down due to the excellent

armory portrayed by Sri rama.

 

 

 

(edhu edhu edhu vugappu) All the above are divine acts of emperuman for the

sake of his devotees that happened long back. Azhvar visualizes them in his

mind and says " edhu " " edhu " .
