ANDAL and periyAzhwAr came later, later. Still they are fearing for the welfre of the Lord and do mangaLA sAsanam to Him, His weapons and His surroundings. Though this is akin to the fact of building dam after the flood has ebbed and the spate is over, their nature and extrme love and affection towards the Almighty makes them do so. This is what is said when jEyar mentions 'GadhE jalE sEdhu bandham, thamappanArukkum magaLukkum paNiyiREA" After the water has receded the bridge/dam is being built. The father and daughter does this as their meticulous duty even after the Lord has returned back to His eternal abode.That is their nature.
