However, thirumangai mannan feels that sri rAmA has also solved the problem of lankA. How is that? What is the problem of lankA? Sri periya vAchAn piLLai has defined problem of a place: "OrUrukku nanmai Avadhu, vasthu bUdhar vardhikkai; thEmai Avadhu-avasthukkaL vardhikkai;" A place becomes good if good people are its citizens and becomes bad if bad people are its residents. lankA permanently had the rAkshasA settlement which made it a bad place. sri rAmA, by vanquishing all these bad elements and solved lankAs problems.
