In the previous (19th) paasuram andal expressed a slight anger towards nappinai for behaving against her trait and not allowing them to join with krishna. Still nappinnai remained silent waiting for the right opportunity to recommend to krishna about the request of the gopis. Misunderstanding the reason for nappinnai’s silence andal in the 20th paasuram, “muppaththu moovar amararkku mun sendru kappam tavirkkum kaliyE!” first called for krishna. But realizing that they cannot attain bhagavadanubavam without the support of nappinnai piratti, andal in the latter half of the paasuram requested nappinnai to grand them the required objects for their nombu along with krishna the most important requisite. (vukkamum tattoliyum tandhun manalanai eppOdhE emmai neerAttu)

Vukkam means hand-fan (visiri); tattoli means mirror; these objects can be taken and given in hand but why is andal asking krishna also in the similar manner? That is because emperuman makes himself to be a paratantran of his devotees. He is like an object in the hands of nappinnai. Emperuman is sarva svathantran but due to his love for his devotees he makes himself to be a parathantran (dependent). So to reach emperuman the easiest way is to fall to the feet of his devotees. One poet beautifully says, “If you want to find chakravarthi thirumagan then search amidst scholars whereas if you want to find krishna search in the saree folds of the aychees (edaichigal pudavai talaipilE). Such is the sowlabhyam of emperuman.

(emmai) In the earlier paasurams we saw the gopis awakening each other by calling “pEypennE” “pillAi” “ananthaludaiyAi” etc now they have joined together and refer to themselves as a group. They are all servants of krishna. They consider krishna to be their upayam and upEyam. Various type of people surrender to the divine feet of emperuman. Some are bhakthas and other prapannas. Even among the prappannas there are druptha prappannas and Artha prappannas. The time they reach emperuman also varies but after they reach the divine abode of emperuman there is no differentiation. The bhagavat anubhavam is common to all.
