Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha Srimad Vara Vara MunayE namaha Sri Vanachala mahA munayE namaha Srivaishnavas should have two important divine qualities namely, ananyagadhitvam (consider no one other than Sriman Narayanan to be our rescuer) and ananyArhasEshatvam (emperuman alone to be our only master). Swamy nammazhvar says, “kalaivAi tunban kalaiyA thozhivAi kalaikan maRRelEn” Kulasekara azhvar says, “viththuvakOttammAnE nee vEndAyE yAyidinum maRRArum pattrilEn” ThiruvarangaththamudhanAr says, “nAnginum kannanukkE A-madu kAmam” Though in different words all of them reverberate the same idea of ananyAhasEshatvam. Even if empermAn refuses to accept them still all of them consider emperuman Sriman Narayanan as their sole master and hence fall to his divine feet. This has been shown by all our azhvars and acharyas in various places. Andal in the 22nd paasuram expresses this divine quality. Inspite of hearing the paasurams sung by the gopis to awaken him, krishna still kept quiet wanting to test the stubbornness of the gopis. Understanding the inner thought of krishna, andal in his paasuram shows that they all were Srivaishnavas and hence were filled with ananyArhasEshatvam and thereby they will never go to the footsteps of anyone else other than krishna even if he refused to answer their call. “angan mA jnAlaththu arasar abhimAna bangamAi” this 22nd paasuram gives the “vukArArtham” say our poorvAcharyas. As our status increases our ego and pride also increases. That is why the brahma rudras suffer due to ahankaram and hence it takes a long time for them to reach the divine abode of emperuman. But in the case of these gopis they have totally shed their ahankara and have surrendered to the divine feet of emperuman and hence it is for sure that they are going to reach the divine abode of emperuman at the end of this birth (“maranamAnAl vaikundam kodukkum piran”) This is what krishna says in Srimad bhagavat geetha. For those who depend on their efforts parthasarathi says, “anEka janma samsidhdha:” (after many janmas they attain) but in the case of his devotees he says, “na chirAt” (need not wait for long). So the first thing that has to be shed by any Srivaishnava is his/her ahankaram (ego).
