yEAzhu-artham.

 

 

Everyone must have heard of ARu vArthai -- the Six Divine Secrets handed over by pEAr aruLALan through sri thiru-k-kachi nambi to sri rAmAnujA.

 

What is this yEAzhu artham? These are seven divine secrets embedded in the thiru-mandhiram.

 

Who gave these seven secrets to whom?

 

Sri thoNdAi mannavan was bestowed this Secret by Sri ThriuvEnkaTamudaiyAn Himself .

 

What are these seven Secrets:

 

1. The body and Soul are different; dhEhamEa AthmA ennum bramai nEngudhal.

2.. The soul is not independent-- thAm swAthantharyan ennum koLgai nEngudhal;

3. Non subservience to other deities-- dhEvathAnthrangaLukku thAn adiavar Agamai.

4. Not to Consider non-relatives as relatives---vuRavinar allAdhArai vuRavinar enRu koLLAmai;

5.Contorlling the five sensory organs--aim-pulan Asaiyai adakkudhal;

6. To be subservient to devotees--bhAgavatha shEshathvam;

7. Not to put self-efforts to attain the end- pEARRin poruttu than muyARchi thavirdhal

How can we consider this as seven secrets ? Sri periya-vAchAn piLLai

"yEzharthathai-p-paRRa yEAzhu kAlam engiRadhiREA"

 

Sri thoNdai mannavan was a devotee of thiru-vENkatamudiayAn and the Lord used to pierce the veil of archA and Grace him with His conversation.

 

Once, The Almighty gave sermon of thirumandhiram which contained these secrets.

 

This is what is revealed in this thiru-mozhi:

 

"thuLangu nEn-mudi arasar tham kurisil, thoNDai mannavan thiN thiRal oruvarkku,

vulan koL anbinODu inn-aruL surandhu, angodu nAzhigai yEAzhudan iruppa,

vaLam koL mandhiram maRRavarku aruLich seidhavARu..." 5-8-9;
