In the 7th paasuram of Periya Thirumozhi 6.1 , Thirumangai states hisdisinterest in the performance of Kaamya Karmaas prescribed bythe four VedAs to gain one or other worldly pleasures through the offeringofconsecrated aahUthis for different DEvAs like Indhran. Some seek Iswaryam like Svarga Vaasam; others seek cattle ,progeny etc. For instance , one of the Rg Vedam verses (VI.46.3) prays:" We invoke the resplendent Lord , the destroyer of mighty evil forcesand the Supervisor of all things. May You equipped with a thousand powers ,grant us blessings for triumphs in the struggles of life ."In another instance , One PoorvArchika Saaman( 366 ) prays :" Oh resplendent Lord , performer of hundreds of benovolent deeds ,liberal is Your munificience and extensive Your bounty . So , Oh observerof all , and benovolent guardian , May You grant us opulence by yourglory and grace ".Rg Vedam ( VIII.71.14) is very specific in its prayer for wealth forthe YajamAnan performing the Yaj~nam: " Solicit with Your hymnsfor protection the adoirable fire divine (Agni) , whose bright andconsuming flames are spread all over .Praise the same for wealth .Oh much renowned worshipper ! The other devotees are praising thatfar-famed one on their own behalf. May You recommend to the same firedivine for a house to me, His devotee" .Most of these type of prayers for opulence , subhiksham in thisworld are contained in Yajur Veda manthrams .Thirumangai describes these anushtAnam of Kaamya KaarmAsrequesting one or other worldly wealth and says that he does notneed any of them over the darsana soubhAgyam of the Lord ofThiruviNNagar :urukku uRu naRu ney koNdArazhalil , irukkuRum anthaNar santhiyin vaayperukkamodu amararkaL amara nalhum , irukkinil inn iai aanavanEANDAy Unnnaik-kANpathOr aruL yenakku aruLithiyElVENDEn manai vaazhkaiyai ViNNagar mEyavanE ----Periya Thirumozhi: 6.1.7Thirumangai sees an assembly of BrahmaNAs ( rthviks) performing homamsin VaidhikAgni in front of dEvAs seated majestically to recieve theofferings of their Yaj~nams . The rthviks are performing these Yaagamsduring the three sandhyAs with fragrant , freshly melted ghee and are usingthe prescribed rks and Saamans and manthrams from the other two Vedamsfor gaining alpa phalans like material wealth and blessings for comfortablelife in this world . Thirumangai is turned off from seeking such perishablepleasures through misdirected use of the Rks and the sweet sounding Saamans, which are the body of the Lord . He vows against these Immai ( Here) andthe maRumai ( Hereafter) Iswaryams and seeks instead the bliss of seeingin person the most resplendent Lord in His archA form at the dhivya dEsam ofThiruviNNagar . He vows that he will give up the worldly ways immediately ,if he is blessed with that soubhAgyam . " Irukkinil innisai anavanE ! ANDAi!ThiruviNNagar mEyavanE ! " , Please grant me this boon and keep me awayfrom the pursuit of the life goal ( PurushArTam ) of arTam (worldly wealth)among the four PurushArTams ( DharmArTa kaama mOksham ) throughthe performance of homams prscribed in Karma KaanDam section ofYour four VedAs .Daasan , Oppiliappan Koil VaradAchAri SadagopanSrimate Sri Laksminrisimha Divya Paduka SevakaSrivan Satakopa Sri Narayana Yatindra Mahadesikaya Nama
