Guest guest
Some More, Please It is well known that the vEdhA-s returned after failing to find the real nature of the Lord -nAn-maRaigaL thEADi enRum kANa mATTAch selvan- are the words of thirumangai AzhwAr--yathO vAchA nivarthAthEa. Having failed so, the sages who were submerged in the Lord's auspicious qualities, were despondent that the number of qualities of the sriman nArAyaNA easily outnumbered and outpaced descriptions and narrations. The vEdhAs or other related works could not keep pace to the auspicious qualities of em-perumAn. This was the status till the birth of the magnum-opus -the divine work of swami nam-AzhwAr -the thiru-voi-mozhi-bhagawadh vishayam. Till then, these munivar-s-some were talking about His quality of rescuing -rakshagathvam;some were extolling His saulabyam;some were commending His other such qualities. However, in aggegate this was only a fraction of the real truth. Therefore, these sages were desiring for more and more such devotees and works to describe the nature of the Lord. These saints who were submerged in em-perumAn's kalyANa guNangaL attained immense happiness, unmeasurable mirth, and invaluable indeed was their joy that they were able to cherish all the kalyANa guNangaL of the Lord. This fact is categorically spelt out in the Edu vyAkyAnam for the "thiru-voi-mozhi avatharitha pinbu, avanukku guNa vibUdhigaL pOrAdhu enRu irundha izhavu thErndhu-athAl niradhisayAnandhigaLAga.." After the origin of thiru-voi-mozhi, these good sages became immensely happy as their regret that there was not a work comprehensively covering the Lord's qaualities, was removed-and that is nan-munivar inbam thalai-siRappa. "eNNAdhanagaL eNNum nan munivar inbam thalai siRappa"10-7-5; Countless qualities restricted by the limitations of experiece were their regrets in pre-thiruvoizhmozhi days. In the post thiruvoizmozhi days -however, they longed for more and more auspicious qualities as now the experience outnumbered-the narration outnumbered , the description outnumbered the qualities. They desired for more such qualties and their minds asked for Some more, Please dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
