Characteristic of chit (sentient) AnanyArhasEshatvam - servants of Sriman Narayanan alone. AnanyasharaNyatvam-Considering emperuman alone to be the sole means. AnanyabhOgyatvam- Confident that emperuman is the one to be attained (purushArtham) Characteristic of Ishvaran (Sriman Narayanan) Sarva sEshitvam- Having everything under his control (the only supreme) Sarva rakshagatvam- Saviour of all Parama bhOgyatvam-One who is the best among that could be enjoyed by all chetanas Characteristic of Achit For the chetana linked with the achit, the achit plays a major role in creating ahankara, mamakara;- That which makes us think the body to be the atma-ahankara; and that which makes the soul to think relatives, friends , wealth etc that has no connection with the athma to belong to the athma –mamakara (svaroopa virodhi) It instigates the thought of protecting oneself; -upAya virodhi; Creates interest in lowkika pleasures involving sabdha (sound), sparsam (touch), roopam (form), rasam (taste), gandham (smell)-purushArtha virOdhi; If chit overcomes ahankara/mamakara and becomes ananyArhan then Ishvaran is realized to be sarvasEshi; If chit loses svarakshana pravriththi and becomes ananyasharaNyam then Ishvaran is realized to be sarva rakshagan; If chit loses interest in lowkika pleasures and becomes ananya bhOgyan then Ishvaran becomes the paramabhOkyam; Azhvar emperumAnAr Jeeyer thiruvadigalE sharaNam Adiyen ramanuja dAsee Sumithra Varadarajan
