Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha Srimad Vara Vara munayE Namaha Sri vAnAchala mahA munayE Namaha Paasuram-63 “tariththirundhE nAgavE tArAganap pOr viriththuraiththa vennAgaththunnai-teriththezhudhi vAsiththum kEttum vaNangi vazhipattum poosiththum pOkkinEn pOdhu” In the previous paasuram azhvar worried about others who don’t even know to surrender to the divine feet of the almighty. But now his mood changes and he rejoices thinking about his fortune. “ArAnumAdhAnum seyya agalidaththai ArAindhu adhu thiruththalAvadhE” (periya thiru 25) says nammazhvar. (tArAganap pOr viriththuraiththa vennAgaththunnai) You are the thiruvanandhAzhvan (divine serpant on which emperuman lies) who detailed the intricate aspects of the motion of stars through the elaborate jhotisha sastra; Emperuman being the antaryami is called as thiruvanandhAzhvan himself here; (tariththu) knowing; understanding; iterating (anushandhAnam); (teriththu) Thought in the mind is the first step; first think (ezhudhi) then write the same in words; (vAsiththu) read those divine meanings written by self and others and make others also do the same; (kEttum) listen to all the divine works done by the Mudal azhvars and other mahans and make others do the same; (vaNangi) Anyone can be a scholar but the naichyam (considering himself to be lowly inspite of all the great talents inside) and getting rid of ahankara and mamakara is very difficult; Now azhvar talks about sheding the ill feelings of ego and pride and prostrating the divine feet of emperuman with the feeling of servitude (“adhuvum avanadhu ennarulE”) (vazhipattum poosiththum) Doing poojas to the lord with all the 3 karanas; mano-mind, vak-speech, kAyam-physique; (pOkkinEn pOdhu) Nothing is left to be done; even those nearby have changed to the required level. Whatever is done is for the very purpose of spending time while in this world. (AgavE tariththirundhEn) thus I sustain myself in this difficult world of samsara and attain my well-being (saththai perugirEn).
