SwAmi Nam AzhwAr in the first ThriuvAiMozhi talks of Supremacy of the Lord, prescribed do-s and donts in the second, fainted on realising the saulabyam of the EmperumAn, in third, sent ambassadors in the fourth, experiences The Almighty's SEla guNam in the fifth and explains that worshipping HIm is the simplest thing, in the sixth. In this he declares that a flower will do for this divine purpose. ' ..purivadhuvum pugai,pUvEA' 1-6-1 of ThiruvAi-mOzhi.

 

Sri Thirumangai Mannan, who follows the footsteps of mARAn and goes on to elucidate the teachings of parAnkusan, explains not only the efficacy of worhsip with flowers but also goes on to narrate various flowers. That he dedicates these to his beloved ThirukkuRunkudi nambi is well known.

 

'nArAr iNDai' The dense flower, the mullai in the kollai, the kuravu malar, the scent of mountain flower all adorn this divya-dhEsam-s. Muster these as a garland and place it fresh at the thiruvadi of Nambi, recommends Kaliyan.

 

Here comes the masterpiece in this regard.

 

'Go for the unique flower and submit it at the eternal flower' is Sri Nam-AzhwAr's pAsuram. What is the unique flower and is there a flower which never gets spoilt? Yes. The unique flower is ones 'jEVAthmA'-Athma pushpam- and the eternal -blemishless flower is His Thiruvadi. Submit Your soul to EmperumAn, is the prescripiton.

This is what kaliyan did. No sooner he entered ThirukkuRunkudi he realised the joy in this divya-dhEsam. He ultimately settled down there. Apparantly, the Almighty had salvaged his soul there and he spent the rest of his life, as if this is Thiru-nAdu.

 

What a Great thing. Despite pirATTi around, the Lord settles in his mind. A great grace '..ThirumAmagaLaip peRRum ..en nenjidam kOil koNdA pEAr aruLALan.." 9-5-10; Periya ThiruMozhi.

What is Great life for one? The retrieval of our soul from the wordly attachments and eternal kainkaryam at His divine feet. Thirumangai mannan fell at vadivazhagiya nambi and lives there eternally and worhsips the Lord in place of swAmi nAm-AzhwAr -Thiruvadi thozhal in adhyayana utsavam. The final journey towards parama-padham is on granting vision to kaliyan who leaves this world permanently having the vision of Nambi-malai nambi.

 

That Nambi had indeed elevated Him and escalated him to exalted level is

crystal clear from the words "Hey SrEvaishNavites.Come on! See here. This is life . This ThirukkuRunkudi has given the real vAzhvu'

and that is kaliyan for you having presented his jEvAthmA at the lotus feet of ThirukkuRunkudi nambi proclaiming to one and all
