We mortals, however need food day in and day out night in and night out. As seen earlier, the food offered to EmperumAn is ideal food.

 

There are certain food which has been proscribed

 

i piNach sOARu: Food in the house of death;

 

ii. maNach sOARu: Food in marriages. Cleanliness.

 

iii. vilaich sOARu: Food purchased. The aim is commercial.

 

iv. pugazhch sOARu; Food catered with the aim of attaining fame.

 

v.porut sOARu: Food offered with expectations of something.

 

vi. ecchiR sOARu: Food offered to anya-dhEvathAs.

 

These are the food specifically barred-refer vArthA mAlai.

 

Further, svAmi vEdhAntha Desikan has elaborately dealt on this subject. In his work AhAra niyamam

he reiterates the fact that food not offered to EmperumAn is a dont.
