Guest guest
EngaL em iRai em pirAn EngaL iRai - Em iRai -EmpirAn In the first pAsuram, first few words, AzvAr focusses on the uniquness of ThirukOshtiyUr sowmyan. 'EngaL em iRai em pirAn imayOArku nAyakan' 9-10-1 of Periya Thirumozhi; EngaL em iRai em pirAn Who is this ThirukOshtiyUr EmperumAn? He is our Lord ? He is My Lord ? He is here for my sake - my Lord. engaL iRai ? em iRai? engaL em iRai. The first pAsuram brings to the fore the unique nature of this archAvathAra EmperumAn. Being the Lord of the souls of the higher worlds -imayOArkku nAyakan- is nothing great. Here, amidst lot of obstacles and this world of sins, the vuraga mel aNaiyAn descended and settled here for our sake. It is this typicality that sparkles. That is why Thirumangai AzvAr declares not EngaL iRai not Em iRai but EngaL Em iRai -The exculisve Lord for us. EmpirAn Okay, here is the EmperumAn for our sake exclusively. What is the grea use, if there is no nexus between Him and us, the divine connexion will only be theoritical. Here He graces us and the relationship glitters and He takes kainkaryam from us This is the greates upakAram He does to us that is why EmpirAn and The Lord who is here exculisvely for us blesses us and bestows His upakAram and gets kainkaryam from SvAmi Periya vAchAn piLLai provides us with this connexion between the words 'engaL em iRai' and 'EmpirAn' in this wonderful manner. dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
