Guest guest
THE DOUBLE ADVANTAGE 'purushakAra balathAlEa -svAthantharyam thalai sAindhAl thalai edukkum guNangaLai sollugiRadhu nAryANa padham'- mumUkshuppaDi Here the pirATTi's role of purushakAram and precipitating EmeprumAn's auspicious qulaities, is being explained by SvAmi PiLLai LOkAchAryAr. There have been cases where the Lord has taken upon Himself this role. However, what will happen if a pirATTi who is personification of tolerance, endurance -poRai namley bhUmip pirATti is with EmperumAn and this closeness itself is the cause of enjoyment for Periya PirATTi? That would be like having the cake and eating it too. That would be like getting incentive for eating sugarcane. The smiling beauty of nilamagaL-bhUmip pirATTi along with periya pirATTi is indeed a boon for us. That is the double advantage. 'evva nOi thavirpAn ...in nagai-thuvar vAi nilamagaL sevvi thOya vallAn thirumamagatu iniyAn' 9-10-2 of Periya Thirumozhi. in-nagai=sweet smile; thuvar vAi=brown/tanned/purple lips. ThirukOshtiyUr EmperumAn decimates all our hurdles -evva nOi - in reaching Him and this is facilitated by the smiling bhUmip pirATTi with Him, which is cherished by Periya pirATTi-ThirumAmaL. That is the twin advantage. dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
