Displaying the True Colours

EmperumAn takes the colours as desired by His devotees from time to time.

In kaliyugam He takes to His natural colour.

This is described by Thirumazhisaip pirAn in Thiruchandha vritham

'palin nErmai sem pon nErmai, pAsiyin puRam pOlum nErmai..nEla nErma..mAlin nErmai' 44

The same is again described in ThirunedunthANdakam as

' thiruvadivl karu nedumAl sEyan -thREathaik kaN,

vaLai vuruvAi thigazhndhan kadal amudham koNda kAlam

perumAnai karu nEla vaNNan thannai'3

This attribute of EmprumAn is recalled in ThirukOshtiyUr by Thirumangai AzvAr

in

'veLLiyAn kariyAn maNi niRa vaNNan.."9-10-3 of Periya Thirumozh;

The Almighty out of volition takes upon these colours. However, if we have to pin point to a particular colour or attribute, we are at a loss and what can we say except:

'kATTuraiyEa yAr oruvar kANgiRpArEa?'

dAsan
