Guest guest
Dear SrI Nanganallur Venkatesh: Thanks very much for your thoughtful note. Yours is a good idea . The practical implementation of it on ground by us will be very difficult unless we happen to live at these dhivya Desams . Once the Abharanam is presented , there is a formal process of the executive Officer of the temple and trustees accepting it and signing off on it. After that we transfer the responsibility of protection and maintenance of the aabharaNam to them .This has worked out at Oppiliappan Koil and SrIvilliputthUr. Tens of thousands of bhakthAs come for the RathnAngi, Mutthangi Sevais at Oppiliappan Koil so much so that the temple has established rathnAngi Sevai " on demand " by BhakthAs on payment of Rs.1,000 . Temple authorities are clever on these matters. Hence they wont let anything happen to these precious aabharaNams. On " Dharma Sevai " days when the Lord adorns RathnAngi at Oppiliappan Koil (SravaNam days Or some other days) , I am told that the queue by sevArthis stretches for quite some distance outside the temple. Our duty at special sannidhis like the one at ThiruvahIndhrapuram dear to Swamy Desikan is to present the RathnAngi and get a public document of acknowkledgement from the Trustees/ Officers and monitor from then on about their safe handling. This practise is working at Oppiliappan Koil. At ThiruvahIndhrapuram , the archaka community is accepting this responsibility. Hope I have responded to your question to the best I can.
