we ahd a wonderful celebration of HH PoundarIkapuram

Andavan's 83rd Birthday ( Thirunakshathram of Panguni

RohiNI) at SrI RanganAtha Temple ,Pomona , NY.

 

Lot of SishyAs and abimAnis of this stalwart of

an AchAryan assembled there to join in the Veda PaarAyaNam ,

recitation of SrI Sookthis of Swamy Desikan at the individual

8 sanidhis of the Temple ( Raghuveera Gadhyam art SrI Raamar

Sannidhi , Garuda DaNDakam at Garudar Sannidhi , GopAla

Vimsathi at KrishNar sannidhi , GOdhA Sthuthi at Andal

Sannidhi, SrI Sthuthi at SrIRanganAyaki's sannidhi ,

DayA Sathakam at Lord SrInivAsan's sannidhi ,

Bhagavath DhyAna SOpaanam at Lord RanganAthA's

sannidhi , KaamasIkhAshtakam at Lord LakshmI Narasimahn's

sannidhi ). AdiyEn had the bhAgyam of reciting

Swamy Desika Sahasra Naamam at Swamy Desikan

and SrI Lakshmi Sahasra Naamam at SrI RanganAyaki Sannidhi ,

which is right next to Swamy Desikan's sannidhi.

There was a grand Veda-PurANa Periya SaaRRumuRai ,

the like of which one does not hear at other temples .

 

A great tadhiyArAdhanam tok place after SaaRRumuRai and

the temple cook prepared major PrasAdhams for the dhivya

Dampathis ,which were shared by the assembled devotees .

 

A grand Sudarsana Homam lasting nearly 3 hours also

took place as is wont on Saturdays and Sundays at

the Temple . We have now completed 90 Sudarsana Homams

this past year (Since first anniversary of the temple

in May 2002 ) and hope to complete the 100th Sudarsana

Homam during May 24 , 2003 and the 108th Homam during

the July 4 weekend .

 

Other AchArya Thirunakshathrams ( AchArya RaamAnujA

in My 2003 ,SrIrangam PeriyANDavan in June 2003 ,

HH the 44th Jeeyar of AhObila Matam and later

SrI MukkUr Azhagiyagingar , the Founding Jeeyar of

this temple , Swamy Desikan's Thitunakshathram on October 5,

2003 and others will be celebrated this year.

 

HH SrI ThridanDi Chinna Jeeyar will be performing

MangaLAsAsanam at the Temple during June 2003 .

 

AnnamachArya's 500th Jayanthi/Vardhanthi will be celebrated

on May 24 , 2003 as a aprt of the second Temple

anniversary.
